Privacy notice

Draft for legal review before launch. Last updated 28 October 2026.

Who we are

Tradepath Consulting Limited is a specialist recruitment business operating in New Zealand. We are the agency responsible for the personal information described below.

What we collect

From candidates: name, contact details, trade and qualifications, registration and licence details, work history, references, right-to-work status, pay expectations, location and availability, and any CV or profile you send us. From employers: contact details, business details and the information in a hiring brief. From this website: standard analytics and, where you consent, marketing engagement data.

Why we collect it

To assess suitability for roles, to introduce candidates to employers with their agreement, to keep you informed about relevant opportunities, and to meet our legal obligations.

Consent and sharing with employers

Your CV and details are not sent to an employer until you have agreed to that specific role. We do not contact your current employer. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.

Storage and security

Information is stored in access-controlled systems. CVs and candidate records are available only to Tradepath staff who need them. We use reputable service providers, which may store information outside New Zealand under comparable protections.

Retention

Candidate records are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted, unless you ask us to keep them longer or we are legally required to. Placement records are kept for seven years for tax and employment purposes.

Marketing email

If you opt in, we use Klaviyo to send occasional trade market updates and articles. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect any live application.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. We will respond within 20 working days.

Cookies and analytics

Optional analytics and advertising are off until you choose. Google Tag Manager manages Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta Pixel tags when configured. Analytics acceptance permits site-use measurement; advertising acceptance permits click and enquiry measurement and ad optimisation by Google and Meta. With explicit advertising acceptance, normalised email and mobile may be shared with Google for enhanced conversions, but not with Google Analytics or Meta through ordinary event parameters. Form notes, CVs, pay and other sensitive information are never sent to advertising or analytics tags. Rejecting optional cookies does not affect enquiries. Cookie choices last six months; permitted campaign attribution (UTMs, click identifiers, landing page and referrer) lasts 90 days and is attached to enquiries stored in Klaviyo. We keep dated notice-version and choice records, including withdrawals, so acceptance can be evidenced. Reopen Cookie settings in the footer to change or withdraw consent immediately, including in other open tabs. Contact us to withdraw permissions for stored enquiry records. Any enabled tags must honour these choices and applicable browser opt-outs. Provider receipt alone does not establish attribution.

Contact and complaints

Email hello@tradepath.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
